Has anyone had to replace a key or keyboard on a laptop? Is this doable or even worth the expense?

My enter key doesn't seem responsive from time to time. So curious...

Its dooable but instructions are going to be different for neally every laptop.
Even if I were to find instructions for your lappy I still probably wouldn't advise you do it. Removing a key wrongly will result on it not fitting back on and treating the keyboard ruffly while removing it will simply break the connector.

For all I kno you could be perfectly capable of doing it, but its probably worth finding a local computer shop and having them do it for you.

Probably not what you wanted to here, but hth anyway.

I took my laptop to a pc repair place when the keyboard failed, rendering the thing unbootable. the store ordered a new keyboard from HP and replaced it for like $125.

Ok, thanks both. The problem isn't consistent, but it does happen often enough to be noticeable.
